Leisuresafe Ltd was founded in 2006 by Managing Director, John Biles who has over 25 years of operational, enforcement and expert witness experience with fire, safety and hygiene management in the hotel, leisure and hospitality sectors.

We have a strong team of competent advisors and dedicated support staff that will enable us to deliver your support requirements. The team are committed to working with clients to increase awareness and reduce accidents through coaching and support. Our consultants are industry specialists in health & safety, food safety and fire safety.

As a result, we have established a reputation for coaching and encouraging clients to adopt sensible control systems that strike a healthy balance between compliance with the law and the freedom to operate in today’s competitive environment.

Managing Director

John has over 25 years of operational, enforcement and expert witness experience with fire, safety and hygiene management in the hotel, leisure and hospitality sectors, founding Leisuresafe in 2006.

He is described by those who have instructed him as a detailed health & safety professional who can provide both outstanding expert guidance and exceptional personal support. He is dynamic and innovative in designing preventative training and concepts.

He endeavours to make health & safety interesting and engaging and works closely with the client to develop practical and effective systems to properly manage risks.

Sarah Naylor

Sarah Naylor

Consultant

Sarah is an Environmental Health professional specialising in Food Safety, with over 8 years’ experience within the Retail and Hospitality sector.

Prior to joining Leisuresafe, Sarah worked for 2 of the big 4 supermarkets, including operating as Food Safety specialist. Prior to this she worked as a Safety Advisor in London auditing a wide range of premises in relation to food safety, health & safety, fire safety, licensing and environmental protection. Sarah has completed her Level 4 HACCP qualification and is a registered trainer.

Ed is an environmental health officer with many years’ experience in the health and safety and food safety fields.  Ed is from a local government background where he worked as an enforcement officer as well as in a corporate health and safety role.

He has also taken a lead on emergency planning and business continuity planning and has been involved in dealing with the response to major incidents.

Ed has experience of inspecting and carrying out investigations in retail, hotels, leisure and the hospitality sector to help ensure compliance with the law and provide businesses with practical advice on how to do this.

Alison Skibinski

Personal Assistant/Senior Administrator

Alison is a professional, conscientious and efficient PA/Administrator with extensive experience organising and managing clerical activities within a busy office environment. Versatile and confident with a high level of attention to detail and excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills, Alison will provide you with all the support you require as the first point of contact within the Worcester office.

She also oversees the administration of the various courses provided by Leisuresafe and will be very happy to assist you with any query you may have.

Andy Taylor

As a former Combat Engineer with the British Army and as a NEBOSH qualified health & safety consultant, Andy has completed a number safety audits on behalf of Leisuresafe for a variety of businesses such as Holiday Inn Express and KFC. In addition, he is also qualified to complete fire risk assessments and has completed a large number of these within premises throughout the UK.

As a trainer, Andy supports and delivers the three-day ‘Safe Siting’ course at caravan parks throughout the UK for Leisuresafe. He is also registered to deliver short courses in fire, health & safety and manual handling through the CIEH in addition to the IOSH Managing Safely course. Andy is also a part-time lecturer with Kingston Maurward College for their foundation degree in Caravan Park Management, focusing on risk.

Rob Ellingham

Rob joined the London Fire Brigade (LFB) in 1993 and subsequently joined their Fire Safety Department in 1997 gathering significant experience in Inspection and Enforcement before becoming a Senior Fire Officer in 1999. This enabled Rob to gain invaluable experience at locations such as Twickenham Rugby Stadium and Stamford Bridge Football Stadium as a Brigade Liaison Officer.

After further promotions and gaining a First Class Honours Degree in Fire Engineering, Rob left LFB in 2007 to become an independent Fire Safety Engineer and has worked in new build design, fire safety management consultancy, fire safety management auditing and the completion of fire risk assessments. Part of his role includes him advising and specifying complex fire engineering solutions and evacuation strategies and providing a liaison role with the approvals bodies where circumstances that are outside of standard guidance exist.

Rob is also an Associate Trainer with the Fire Protection Association and has helped develop and deliver various courses including Fire Risk Assessments and Fire Safety Management. He is also an Associate Lecturer with the University of Derby delivering a Level 5 module of the Fire Risk management degree course.

Beverley Glasby

Beverley is a qualified Environmental Health Officer with 27 years experience in the field of health and safety within the public and private sectors.

Over the last 6 years, Beverley has specialised in Legionella control within hot and cold domestic water systems.  She has experience of undertaking Legionella risk assessments and implementing Legionella control schemes in a wide variety of premises, including: Retail, Healthcare, Hotels and Food manufacturing premises.
